Palmyra
(pronounced
"pal-mear-rah")

Palmyra Mattner is a Bahraini-born, Syrian-German actor. Raised in the Middle East, she went on to study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City. Upon graduating, Palmyra toured the country with Aquila Theatre in both their 2016 (Murder on The Nile, Much Ado About Nothing) and 2022 seasons (The Great Gatsby, Macbeth), performing in over 32 states nationwide as well as leading theatre workshops. In 2017, she co-wrote and starred in Strings (Broadway World Review), a one-act centered on mother-daughter relationships which was performed in NYC at the Acces Theatre.  In addition to theatre, she has worked professionally in voice-over in both the US and Europe (Vanity Fair Hive, Johnnie Walker, The Ensemble Momentum Orchestra in Germany), commercial (Barnes & Noble, Annie Selke, Ellia Essential Oils, Chelsea Dental), film and new media. Palmyra is also a keen participant in community outreach, which previously includes the Stella Adler Studio’s programs at Rikers Island & The Phoenix House in New York, as well as performing alongside veterans as part of Aquila Theatre’s The Warrior Chorus (The Odyssey; B.A.M Fisher’s).
